The short version
We use a small number of cookies to make the website work. We don't use advertising cookies, we don't track you across other websites, and our analytics don't use cookies at all.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Local storage works in a similar way, but the data stays on your device and isn't sent to us automatically.
Cookies we use
| Name | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
fw_session |
Keeps you signed in after you use a sign-in link | Strictly necessary | 30 days |
fw_claims |
Gives you access to claims you created in this browser | Strictly necessary | 7 days |
NEXT_LOCALE |
Remembers your language choice | Strictly necessary | Up to 1 year |
fw_ref |
Records which partner referred you, so we can credit them | Functional | 30 days |
All of these are first-party cookies, set by getflyclaims.com only.
About the referral cookie
fw_ref is only set if you arrive on our website through a partner's link, such as a travel blog or comparison site. It stores the partner's referral code and nothing else. We use it to credit the partner if you submit a claim. It doesn't follow you to other websites, isn't used for advertising, and isn't shared with the partner as a tracking identifier. If you don't arrive through a partner link, this cookie is never set.
Local storage
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
fw_draft_v1 |
Saves your answers while you fill in a claim, so you don't lose them if you leave the page | Stays on your device until you clear it |
Your draft answers stay in your browser. They're only sent to us when you submit your claim.
Analytics
We measure how our website is used with a cookie-free analytics tool. It doesn't store anything on your device and doesn't collect personal data.
Managing cookies
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block the strictly necessary cookies, you won't be able to sign in or view your claims. Clearing your browser's site data also removes the saved draft.
