Check compensationYour rights with Royal Jordanian
Royal Jordanian must follow EU261 like every other airline. If your flight arrived 3 or more hours late, was cancelled less than 14 days before departure, or you were denied boarding, you can claim compensation based on the flight distance:
| Flight distance | Compensation |
|---|---|
Up to 1,500 km e.g. Amsterdam – London | €250 |
1,500 – 3,500 km, or any flight within the EU over 1,500 km e.g. Berlin – Lisbon | €400 |
Over 3,500 km e.g. Paris – New York | €600 |
For delays, the arrival delay at your final destination must be 3 hours or more. Long-haul delays of 3–4 hours pay 50%.
Royal Jordanian flights departing from the EU, EEA, Switzerland or UK are covered. Flights arriving in Europe from elsewhere are not covered, because Royal Jordanian is based outside the EU and UK.

Royal Jordanian compensation: common questions
How much compensation does Royal Jordanian pay?
Royal Jordanian pays €250, €400 or €600 per passenger depending on flight distance, as set by EU261. For flights under UK261, £220, £350 or £520.
How long does Royal Jordanian take to pay?
Most airlines pay within 2 to 12 weeks of receiving a complete claim. If Royal Jordanian refuses without a valid reason, we can take legal action, which takes longer but costs you nothing extra.
Can Royal Jordanian refuse because of bad weather or a technical problem?
Severe weather can exempt Royal Jordanian, but technical problems generally can't. Airlines sometimes give a reason that doesn't hold up; we check weather and air traffic data for your flight.
