Check compensationYour rights with Binter Canarias
Binter Canarias must follow EU261 like every other airline. If your flight arrived 3 or more hours late, was cancelled less than 14 days before departure, or you were denied boarding, you can claim compensation based on the flight distance:
| Flight distance | Compensation |
|---|---|
Up to 1,500 km e.g. Amsterdam – London | €250 |
1,500 – 3,500 km, or any flight within the EU over 1,500 km e.g. Berlin – Lisbon | €400 |
Over 3,500 km e.g. Paris – New York | €600 |
For delays, the arrival delay at your final destination must be 3 hours or more. Long-haul delays of 3–4 hours pay 50%.
All Binter Canarias flights departing from or arriving in the EU, EEA and Switzerland are covered.

Binter Canarias compensation: common questions
How much compensation does Binter Canarias pay?
Binter Canarias pays €250, €400 or €600 per passenger depending on flight distance, as set by EU261. For flights under UK261, £220, £350 or £520.
How long does Binter Canarias take to pay?
Most airlines pay within 2 to 12 weeks of receiving a complete claim. If Binter Canarias refuses without a valid reason, we can take legal action, which takes longer but costs you nothing extra.
Can Binter Canarias refuse because of bad weather or a technical problem?
Severe weather can exempt Binter Canarias, but technical problems generally can't. Airlines sometimes give a reason that doesn't hold up; we check weather and air traffic data for your flight.
