Your rights with TUIfly

TUIfly must follow EU261 like every other airline. If your flight arrived 3 or more hours late, was cancelled less than 14 days before departure, or you were denied boarding, you can claim compensation based on the flight distance:

Flight distanceCompensation

Up to 1,500 km

e.g. Amsterdam – London

1,500 – 3,500 km, or any flight within the EU over 1,500 km

TUIfly compensation: common questions

How much compensation does TUIfly pay?

TUIfly pays €250, €400 or €600 per passenger depending on flight distance, as set by EU261. For flights under UK261, £220, £350 or £520.

How long does TUIfly take to pay?

Most airlines pay within 2 to 12 weeks of receiving a complete claim. If TUIfly refuses without a valid reason, we can take legal action, which takes longer but costs you nothing extra.

Can TUIfly refuse because of bad weather or a technical problem?

Severe weather can exempt TUIfly, but technical problems generally can't. Airlines sometimes give a reason that doesn't hold up; we check weather and air traffic data for your flight.
