Check compensationYour rights with Saudia
Saudia must follow EU261 like every other airline. If your flight arrived 3 or more hours late, was cancelled less than 14 days before departure, or you were denied boarding, you can claim compensation based on the flight distance:
| Flight distance | Compensation |
|---|---|
Up to 1,500 km e.g. Amsterdam – London | €250 |
1,500 – 3,500 km, or any flight within the EU over 1,500 km e.g. Berlin – Lisbon | €400 |
Over 3,500 km e.g. Paris – New York | €600 |
For delays, the arrival delay at your final destination must be 3 hours or more. Long-haul delays of 3–4 hours pay 50%.
Saudia flights departing from the EU, EEA, Switzerland or UK are covered. Flights arriving in Europe from elsewhere are not covered, because Saudia is based outside the EU and UK.
How to claim from Saudia

Saudia compensation: common questions
How much compensation does Saudia pay?
Saudia pays €250, €400 or €600 per passenger depending on flight distance, as set by EU261. For flights under UK261, £220, £350 or £520.
How long does Saudia take to pay?
Most airlines pay within 2 to 12 weeks of receiving a complete claim. If Saudia refuses without a valid reason, we can take legal action, which takes longer but costs you nothing extra.
Can Saudia refuse because of bad weather or a technical problem?
Severe weather can exempt Saudia, but technical problems generally can't. Airlines sometimes give a reason that doesn't hold up; we check weather and air traffic data for your flight.
